“The Argyle Sweater” Comics Get Straight to the Point and Are Incredibly Funny

The best jokes are simple and straight to the point. You know you found something good when it’s immediately funny and doesn’t need much explanation. And that is precisely what The Argyle Sweater comics are all about.

Created by Texas-native cartoonist Scott Hilburn, The Argyle Sweater comics are a perfect example of how sometimes more is less. His comics are simple, deliver the punch line effortlessly, sometimes even without the dialog, and are beautifully drawn.

Hilburn started The Argyle Sweater comics series in 2006, publishing new comics on the GO Comics platform. His talent was soon recognized by Universal Press, which syndicated it. Since then, The Argyle Sweater comics have been part of high-profile publications across the United States, including LA Time, Washington Post, and many others.

“After years of developing my artistic skill, it is now time for me to use my drawing powers and cartooning abilities to save the world,” Hilburn shared in a comedic bio on his website. “There is no need to thank me for my work. It is my gift to mankind.”

Aside from newspapers, The Argyle Sweater comics can also be enjoyed on Hilburn’s official social media. Check out our favorites by continuing to scroll.
