Instagram is home to many amazing food bloggers worth following if you’re trying to embrace a plant-based diet, and The Foodie Takes Flight is one of the very best. Its author Jeeca specializes in sharing delicious vegan recipes inspired by her travels and her childhood in the Philippines.

Jeeca fell in love with cooking at a young age, watching her mother prepare all sorts of dishes, using tips and tricks she learned from older generations of women in their family. Growing up in a Filipino-Chinese household and traveling around Asia had a huge impact on the kind of recipes she shares today, which are mostly inspired by East and Southeast Asian cuisine.

In addition to paying homage to her home country, all of Jeeca’s recipes happen to be vegan. She embraced a plant-based diet in 2015 after watching a documentary called Earthlings, which made her realize that she no longer wants to contribute to cruelty toward animals and make a positive change.

“Going on this vegan lifestyle has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. It came with its highs and lows, but I always remind myself to stand by what I believe in… I created this platform in hopes to inspire more to adopt a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle,” she writes on her blog.
