When you’re dating, the chances are that you will have more than a few bad dates and funny stories to tell to your friends. However, receiving an invoice for an “unsuccessful date,” which happened to TikToker Fiona Hope, is a next-level dating failure.

In a viral video she posted earlier this month, Hope shared a story about an unexpected twist that happened after one of her dates. She explained that she went on a first date with a man and later politely let him know that there was “no romantic connection” between them. What her date did afterward was quite unbelievable.

Instead of accepting it and moving on, the man decided to send Hope an invoice in which he asked for payment for an “unsuccessful date.” The amount stated on the invoice is £29, £17 for the food and £12 for the drinks. The man also added that “it’s not about the money, it’s the principle.”

Judging by the caption of Hope’s video, which says, “Sorry mate, no refunds allowed,” her date won’t be getting a payment anytime soon. And other TikTok users are overwhelmingly in favor of this, saying that if the man wanted to split the bill, he should have done that right away and not after he was rejected.
