“Venice in Pattern” Will Show You a Creative Side of the Italian City

Venice is known as one of the most romantic cities in Italy and Europe, but did you know about its contemporary and artistic side? Two artists work hard to show everyone another side of Venice by turning its landmarks into patterns. Did they succeed? See for yourself.

Ilaria Pittana and Ilaria Pitteri combine their talents to bring unique patterns that tell the story of Venice. Their project is called Venice in Pattern and it’s possible thanks to two different points of view. Pittana is an architect who finds interesting landmarks around the city and takes photos of them, and Pitteri, who’s a graphic designer, turns her ideas into modern-looking patterns.

“We love Venice in all its forms. We like historical Venice, under the eyes of all but above all the contemporary and constantly evolving one… the one that deserves to be discovered and valued,” they recently told Tra Realta e Sogno. The inspiration is everywhere, as the city has a lot to offer.

Find the patterns they created so far on their Instagram account. Follow them for more and check out their online shop if you want to buy prints. This is a unique way to check out Venice, and if you had a chance to visit the city before, you’ll appreciate it even more!
