Roeqiya Fris is a talented Dutch-Egyptian artist whose illustrations are rich in colors and patterns. They burst with life and femininity and contain many lively elements like natural landscapes, vibrant colors, and floral patterns. There’s no doubt that her art will leave you in awe.
The artist finds inspiration in many places, but her dual heritage is what inspires her the most. “There are so many fascinating color-combinations I see in everyday life,” the artist tells My Modern Met, “such as two brightly colored cars parked next to each other in a street, or an eclectic color-mix of flowers in a field, somebody’s outfit in a grocery store, a still in a movie, a picture.”
Women are often a subject of her art. She celebrates the strength of womanhood and female friendships by drawing figures alone or in groups. She likes to include women who follow their passion, who are sensitive, intuitive, beautiful, and strong.
