One thing that every couple needs to navigate in their relationship is family introductions. Sometimes introducing your partner to your family members goes really well, while other times, they need some time to warm up, as a viral video shared on TikTok by traveling couple Claire and Peter shows.
The video starts with Claire introducing Peter to her grandma during their visit to China, home of Claire’s grandparents. The Grandma doesn’t look like she’s fond of Peter at all on Day 1, staring at him with a serious look on her face. The same thing continues to happen throughout the first couple of weeks.
However, by Week 3, Grandma can be seen slowly changing her mind about Peter. The two exchange some sweet moments while the serious look on Grandma’s face turns into a big smile.
By the time Claire and Peter are set to leave China, Grandma is fully on Team Peter. She can be seen waving at the couple with a sad look on her face. The video blew up across social media, getting more than 17 million views on TikTok alone.
While Grandma’s first reaction to Peter might not have been the most welcoming, it turned out that she wasn’t as unsympathetic towards him as it seemed. In one of the earlier videos shared by Claire on TikTok, Grandma admits that she actually likes Peter. Maybe she liked him from the very start but just needed some time to show it.
