Imagine stopping by your favorite Philly cheesesteak place and getting your sandwich served by the pop superstar Ed Sheeran. This is exactly what recently happened to the customers at Philadelphia’s popular food joint Philip’s Steaks.
Sheeran was recently doing a pair of shows in Philadelphia and decided to use the break to visit Philip’s Steaks. While there, he decided to show off his cooking skills by preparing Philly cheesesteaks and serving them to the customers.
The “Shape of You” singer later shared a video of his shift at Philip’s Steaks on social media. In the clip, Sheeran explains that he is a “bad server” because he gives out the sandwiches for free.
It is safe to say that his fans were delighted, not only because they were served Philly cheesesteaks by their favorite singer but also because they tasted good.
As it turns out, Sheeran didn’t pick out Philip’s Steaks by accident. In a chat with Fox 29, Philip’s Steaks owner Joseph Baldino shared that Sheeran has been a fan of the place as well as members of his team.
“It was surreal,” Baldino said. “One of Ed Sheeran’s team members said that her and her family have been eating with us forever.”
