Yulia Brodskaya’s Quilled Paper Art Creations Have To Be Seen To Be Believed

Paper art experienced a true boom in the past few years, but Yulia Brodskaya has been at the forefront of this movement before everyone else jumped on board. She brought her quilling technique to perfection and created some of the most intricate paper artworks that you’ll ever come across.

After graduating from the University of Hertfordshire, Brodskaya started working as a graphic designer and illustrator in 2006. These art forms didn’t make her think, so she decided to switch things up and give paper art a shot.

“Paper always held a special fascination for me. I’ve tried many deferent methods and techniques of working with it, until I found the way that has turned out to be ‘the one’ for me: now I draw with paper instead of on it,” explains Brodskaya on her official website.

This proved to be the best decision that she could’ve possibly made because she found international acclaim working as a paper artist. She used the quilling technique to make her intricate designs come to life, creating everything from simple typography designs to detailed portraits.

In the years to come, Brodskaya worked with a long list of high-profile clients, including Hermes, Starbucks, Target, and Bentley, and even designed an official poster for The Wimbledon Championships in 2015. She’s also the author of the book Painting with Paper: Paper on the Edge, where she details her craft.
