Check Out This Jaw-Dropping Floating City That’s Shaped Like a Turtle

In the past, living on the sea meant you had to give up all sorts of luxury. But not anymore. According to the vision of Lazzarini Design studio, the future of living is truly at sea, and it looks bright.

The creatives at the Lazzarini Design studio recently presented their concept for Pangeos, a floating city that is shaped like a turtle. If ever built, it would be the world’s largest floating structure at 1,800 ft in length and 2,000 ft in width. But this is hardly what makes it so impressive.

According to Lazzarini Desing’s vision, the Pangeos would be able to take on 60,000 guests. It would have shopping malls, hotels, parks, ship and aircraft ports, and all other amenities that you would find in a land city. The side wings of the floating city would also have private villas and apartments.

The designers also thought about the environmental impact of Pangeos and would think the yacht itself could sail and function on clean energy.

“While sailing, the large wings will gain energy from the braking of the waves, and Pangeos will cruise perpetually without emissions around the planet Earth seas,” the studio explained. “Further, the rooftop area is lined with solar panels, which provide part of the necessary clean energy to power the terayacht.”

Pangeos is just an idea for now, but who knows what can happen in the future. In the meantime, check out a more in-depth look at the design of the floating city below.
