Elderly Couple Become Fashion Icons With Clothes Customers Forget in Their Laundromat

One Taiwanese couple is showing that you are never too old to become a fashion icon. Seniors Chang Wan-ji and Hsu Sho-e have become the talk of the internet in recent years thanks to the stylized and often matching outfits they regularly showcase on their highly-popular Instagram account.

Chang Wan-ji and Hsu Sho-e are owners of a dry-cleaning service and laundromat Wansho Laundry. When the coronavirus pandemic hit, the couple faced slowing business and piles of clothes customers forgot or couldn’t pick up. The times were tough for the elderly couple, but luckily, their grandson Reef Chang had an idea to animate them and make use of the clothes that was left behind.

Chang got their grandparents to put some of the clothes on and pose like they were on the photoshoot. Initially skeptical about the idea, Wan-ji and Sho-e decided to give it a try and never looked back. The overwhelmingly positive reactions have encouraged them to keep on trying new looks, and it wasn’t long before they were crowned the new fashion icons of social media.

“My grandson is very creative,” Hsu Sho-e told The New York Times. “His creativity has made us happy, and other people, too.”

The couple’s Instagram account, showing them looking trendy and stylish in various outfits with the confidence of models, has more than 600K followers, and the number keeps on increasing by the day. Check out more of their photos below.
