Raku Inoue Creates Exotic Butterflies Out of Flowers

Montreal-based fashion designer Raku Inoue is the author of the series “Natura Insects” which shows an incredible range of exotic butterflies and moths. Inoue makes them out of seasonal flowers and leaves, so their colors vary based on the season.

He uses the knowledge of Japanese art of arranging flowers, ikebana, and applies it to this unique art form. He says it has taught him to be respectful of nature and not to use rare, endangered species for his projects.
