The post Artist Turns Everyday Sayings and Phrases Into Pun-Filled Illustrations appeared first on https://everydaymonkey.com.
]]>Abdullatif takes everyday saying and phrases and turns them into pun-filled illustrations. His works are minimalistic but filled with characters that will both make you laugh and charm you with their cute looks.
When browsing through Abdullatif’s works, you’ll encounter phrases that you probably use every day. However, there is a chance that you’ll start thinking about them in a different way and have to battle the urge not to chuck next time you or someone else mentions them.
For example, the phrase “I’d be lost without you” is illustrated using two happy socks. An illustration of two glass panels, one clear and the other tinted, illustrates, “I want to be perfectly clear with you.”
Aside from these charming and funny cartoons, Abdullatif, who has 12 years of experience in graphic design and illustrations, also creates all sorts of conceptual and vector art. His works can be found all over the internet, but the best place to check them out is his Instagram profile. Continue scrolling to see some of our favorites.

]]>Zach may seem like a happy-go-lucky person when you look at his illustrations, but he went through many ups and downs before starting this comics series in 2011. It was his last-ditch effort to find fulfillment in his life after realizing that he was at his happiest when making people laugh.
Even though they’re undeniably funny, Zach’s comics don’t necessarily explore light and easy topics. He’s constantly trying to find humor in the absurdity of everyday life and ponder life’s big questions in an amusing way.
“A lot of people use humor to deal with pain in their lives, and most if not all of my comics come from that place. I think that’s a big part of why some people like them. I’ve been very fortunate to have been able to connect with people in this way over the years,” Zach told Bored Panda.
In addition to attracting almost 700,000 followers to his Instagram page, Zach is also sharing Extra Fabulous Comics on his official website and he has interesting offers for his fans on Patreon.

]]>Yuri describes Bbs as an “adorable, blobby, squishy cherub-like nonbinary characters.” She uses their cute look to convey messages that can be anywhere on the sweet and sass spectrum.
For example, one Bb will tell you to “be the reason someone believes in good people.” But then another one is saying, “I know one of us is right, and the other one is you.” It seems like you never know what their mood will be like.
“It’s my aim to create a space for the best two energies to have; sweetness and sass, and to bring more light and color into the world,” she explains on her website.
Yuri is a marketing strategist by profession, and being an illustrator is her passion project. Besides the “Making S*it” series, she is also engaged in several other projects. One of them is “The ABCs Of,” a picture book for grownups that is currently waiting for a publisher to pick it up.

]]>Finck is a comic artist, and it’s clear that dry humor is a big part of her intent. The main aspect of her appeal is the text she writes with the art, and how it culminates together for a show-stopping, hilarious result.
She brings laughter to everyone’s day in quirky fashion, and it’s not always because you understand the joke. In fact, there isn’t always a “joke”. Much of Finck’s charm is in its subtlety, and the way it leaves so much open to interpretation.
Her comics can be as basic as an unseen force telling a person “you chose wrong”, or someone seeing an acquaintance after a long time and blurting out, “Pop quiz! What’s my name?” It doesn’t always need to make sense, and in a weird way, it sometimes makes even more sense when it makes less sense.
After all, so much of life tends to be confusing and surreal, so perhaps this is why her comics have struck such a poignant chord with the world.

In his beautifully done illustrations, sardine cans become comfortable beds, birdhouse serves as a washing machine, while the smartphone provides a window to the outer world.
According to Roy, he grew up wanting to be a painter and admired the works of both classical and contemporary painters. This love for painting ended up translating into his works as a graphic designer.
“I like to work on perspective, I refine the staging, the details, and the shadows. I’m inspired by my other passions such as music, video games, skateboarding and digital. I observe the world around me and divert objects,” he told Fubiz in a recent chat.
