YJ Park is a painter and sculptor from South Korea whose works have been featured in a number of solo and group exhibitions in his native country and other parts of the world. In between making traditional art, Park also finds time to recreate pop culture characters as action figures.
Saying that Park’s action figures are impressive is an understatement. With meticulous attention to detail, this talented artist manages to craft hyperrealistic pieces that look like shrink versions of the characters they are based on.
Park doesn’t only put a focus on getting the face right. He makes sure every element of his action figures is spot on, from clothes to accessories. If a character has an earring or sports a particular brand of sunglasses, you can bet it will be included in the final version of the piece.
So far, Park has created dozens of these impressive action figures. They range from members of the popular K-pop band BTS to main characters from movies like Léon: The Professional, American Psycho, Forrest Gump, and more.
