TikTok Turns Spotify Wrapped Into a Dating Parody

Even if you don’t have a Spotify account, you are probably familiar with their Spotify Wrapped marketing campaign. It sees the music streamer crunching activity data for each user and making them available to see and share graphics. While quite popular in previous years, Spotify Wrapped has lost some of its popularity in 2022 due to the emergence of Dating Wrapped.

Dating Wrapped originated on TikTok and has social media users sharing their dating activity data for the year instead of music preferences. It seems that the trend started with Canadian TikToker Alexandria McLean, whose Dating Wrapped video got 1.2 million views.

In the clip, McLean reveals how many first dates she had, how many of those first dates turned into second dates, and several other bits of info, like how many times she cried over a date.

After McLean’s video became a hit on TikTok, other social media users jumped on the trend. There have been plenty of Dating Wrapped videos in recent days, with most TikTokers following McLean’s template.

There were also those who added some categories of their own. For example, @amberwavesofbrain also included how much money she spent on dates.

If any of these men see this, I want you to know that you’re not special and you’re just a number to me 😌✌🏼 #datingwrapped #wrapped #tinder #hinge #facebookdating #firstdate
