Ariadna Giménez is Using AI to Design Beautiful Gaudi-Inspired Buildings

From Sagrada Família to Park Güell, Antoni Gaudí designed some of the most iconic buildings in Barcelona, and his legacy lives on to this day. He inspired many artists over the years, including Ariadna Giménez, who’s using the power of artificial intelligence to pay homage to this visionary Catalan architect.

Giménez studied advanced architecture at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia, but she’s a pretty versatile artist and enjoys exploring many different spheres. In addition to architecture, she’s also fascinated by photography, interior design, social media, and 3D visualization—and her project Gaudism allowed her to blend all her passions into one.

Antoni Gaudí’s buildings were always one of her main reference points, and she wanted to honor his legacy with this project. Gaudism is deeply rooted in the Catalan modernism movement that Gaudí put on the map, and it uses the power of AI to bring his unique style into the modern world.

“Gaudism — from Gaudí, is a project exploring aspects of Catalan Modernism at different scales and translating it into a contemporary minimalist expression of natural forms, focusing on the curves, the dynamism, the beyond fairytale aspect or fantastic feel that this movement generates,” explains Giménez on Instagram.
