Paintings by Brazilian artist Clara Cristina are complex, colorful, and intriguing. They represent a dance of colors on a canvas that have an element of randomness to them, but still look like they are placed with great care. This effect is achieved thanks to Cristina’s special painting technique.
It turns out that Cristina, who is based in Stuttgart, Germany, has ditched painting brushes in favor of a squeegee. She applies acrylic paint to the paper or canvas and then uses a squeegee or a wedge to scrape it off. This produces a special effect that can’t be replicated any other way.
According to Cristina, she developed her technique a couple of years ago after experimenting with various tools. The artist describes her works as a result of a “little bit of technique, a lot of practice, and a ton of luck. “

Cristina also has several other art projects she is currently working on, including thick paintings made with acrylic paint and gel and watercolor paintings.
