If you enjoy clothes and fashion accessories with butterfly motifs, Bibian Blue is about to become your favorite designer. This fashion house based in Barcelona became a true Instagram sensation thanks to its signature butterfly dresses that look straight out of a fairy tale.
Butterfly dresses are now Bibian Blue’s bestsellers, but the designer never expected their huge success. It all started with a collection called Crystal Flowers back in 2012, inspired by her love for art nouveau and vintage fairy dresses.
“I just loved to make my own fabrics, so for that collection, we just did this panel with different monarch wings in different colors and sizes, but did not have the designs clear yet – just wanted lots of wings to see what they would look like,” Blue told Bored Panda.
As years went by, their clients kept asking for more and more butterfly dresses and Bibian Blue went on to release several capsule collections that put butterfly and moth prints in the spotlight.
Even when they don’t feature these motifs, Bibian Blue’s dresses always look whimsical and mesmerizing because this artist is fully dedicated to reinviting mythological styles, evoking expressions of realities yet to be born and melancholic depictions of a time yet to happen.
