Dina Brodsky Uses Her Miniature Paintings as a Visual Travel Journal

There are countless ways to chronicle your travels, from taking photographs to writing about them in your travel journal. When you’re a talented artist, you can also put them on paper through your paintings and drawings—and that’s exactly what Dina Brodsky decided to do.

Brodsky became a huge social media sensation, with 700,000 Instagram followers and counting, thanks to her intricate miniature art. Here mini-paintings explore everything from urban interiors and natural environments to unsuspecting human and animal subjects, but travel-inspired creations seem to be one of her favorite subject matters.

We’ve seen Brodsky capture many places around the globe through her tiny circular paintings, from Rome to New York. Even though she enjoys capturing her travels through her work, she usually keeps things local, painting the landscapes she encountered while exploring America.

Brodsky’s journey as an artist formally started while she was attending the New York Academy of Art, where she earned a master’s degree in fine arts. She created her first notable painting series “One More Shelter” while traveling through the US in 2012, looking for abandoned homes and buildings and capturing their decay.

One decade later, her art has significantly evolved, and she’s dedicated to helping other artists find their own paths. She started a workshop “Instagram For Artists”, sharing secrets that helped her attract hundreds of thousands of followers to her page.
