Goliath “Gogo” the Leopard Gecko lives with his owner Ignatius “Iggy” Wirasakti, and they’ve been inseparable since 2016. Gogo’s owner is a biology student, who’s especially interested in herpetology (reptiles and amphibians) and entomology (insects), and Gogo is making him company during his time at college.
Gogo’s shenanigans brought 1.4 million followers and 16 million likes to his TikTok page, but he’s generally a pretty peaceful pet. He spends most of his time snacking, being pet by his owner, and chilling inside his heat mat.
“Goliath loves his heat mat. Leopard geckos get the majority of their heat from their bellies, so heat mats are the optimal source of heat for them. His heat mat is connected to a thermostat, which regulates the temperature so it does not get too hot or too cold!” explains Wirasakti on Instagram.
Having a leopard gecko as a pet may seem unusual, but they’re actually the second most popular lizard pet species, right behind bearded dragons.
