Hilarious Cartoons By Maddie Dai

Sharp-witted cartoonist Maddie Dai has been working for The New Yorker since 2017. It all started when she took a cartooning class with Emily Flake by accident since the class she really wanted to take didn’t have enough people.

“Like any excellent teacher, Emily helped me to tap into the hidden stash of cartoon ideas that lurked within, and with her encouragement I started submitting cartoons to Bob Mankoff,” Dai told A Case for Pencils.

She’s very modest, but we love her cartoons and the ideas behind them. Scroll through her Instagram account and you’ll be hooked! It’s a good thing she posts new cartoons regularly, so you’ll constantly get new things to laugh about, often revolving around the current topics. Below are our favorites.
