House of the Dragon broke the internet with each new episode and the Season 1 finale took things to a whole new level. This episode gave us many memorable moments that inspired countless viral tweets, and most of them were talking about a single scene.
If you’re reading this, you probably already know that House of the Dragon is chronicling the war of succession between the members of the House Targaryen. Season 1 set up the stage and introduced us to all the major players, with the last two episodes chronicling the beginning of what’s about to turn into the infamous Dance of the Dragons.

Following King Viserys’s death, Alicent Hightower’s son Aegon was unrightfully crowned as king. The season finale sees Rhaenyra learn the news, and try to secure allies to her side, but she ends up losing one of her sons along the way.
The deadly showdown between Lucerys and Aemond at Storm’s End was the finale’s most talked-about moment. It was heartbreaking for everyone involved, but it led to some hilarious viral tweets that tried to find humor in it, mostly making fun of Aemond’s inability to control his dragon which lead to dire consequences.
