Lunar Baboon is Spreading Kindness Through His Heartwarming Comics

Social media can be a pretty cruel space, so you should be trying to add a little bit of possibility and warmth to your feed every chance you get. Lunar Baboon’s comics will give you just that since this artist is constantly trying to spread positivity through his relatable and funny art.

With over 650,000 followers under his belt, Lunar Baboon is definitely one of the Instagram illustrators that you should keep an eye on, but who’s the artist behind this page? This series of webcomics is the brainchild of Chris Grady, a school teacher-turned-artist based in Toronto.

When he first embarked on this creative journey, Grady was looking for a way to combat his anxiety and depression, and he realized that making comics gave him a positive space to focus his thoughts.

“I think it is impossible not to be influenced by the world around you. There is a lot of bad things happening in the world, but there is also a lot of good. I try to find the good or humorous in the difficult things that happen to us every day,” Grady told Huffington Post.

Grady is a father of two and his comics usually draw inspiration from his family adventures and everyday life. He doesn’t shy away from addressing touchy subjects in his work, from social justice to gender issues, often under his wife’s influence.
