Lucas Zanotto creates hypnotizing animation loops that feature simple shapes in bold colors with a pair of eyes that give them human properties and emotions. This Italian-born artist, director, and animator creates humorous work that’s loved by nearly 100,000 people on Instagram. He’s lived and worked in Milan, Barcelona, Berlin, and he’s currently located in Helsinki.
Zanotto started by making analog art, but recently he switched to digital, which he enjoys more. According to him, digital art is easier and quicker to produce, and the result is equally or more satisfying compared to analog art. He only finds one downside to it, and that’s staring into a screen for hours an end.
