Most people don’t see buzz cuts as a stylish hairstyle that leaves a lot of room for experimenting, but Jacqueline Bieber would disagree. She became a true Instagram sensation thanks to creative buzz cut designs that come in all the colors of the rainbow.
Born and raised in Hawaii, Bieber fell in love with painting and drawing at a young age, and her artistic background helped her develop her own style. Her mom was a hairstylist, as well, so she had some knowledge about hair products and decided to combine these two mediums into one.
“One of my friends shaved her head bald, and I was bored with the traditional painting medium, so [I] had the idea to do a painting on her bald head… I got all the semi-permanent colors and used my friend’s head as my canvas, and that’s pretty much it,” Bieber told Alt Press.
This marked the beginning of her journey, and she went on to create many unique buzz cut designs, featuring everything from flames and flowers to unique colorful patterns. Everything she does is hand-drawn without stencils, and she even got to work with several celebrity clients, such as blackbear and Dennis Rodman, who’s been rocking colorful buzzcut for years.
