If you don’t see makeup as a unique art form, it’s most likely you still haven’t run into a makeup artist who knocked you off your feet. Leah Mua will do just that with her epic makeup transformations that show her shapeshifting into our favorite movie characters.
With an impressive following of over 160,000 followers on TikTok and 10,000 more on Instagram, Leah is one of the rising stars in the world of makeup that you should watch out for. She’s based in Kerry, Ireland and she even took part in the popular TV show Glow Up Ireland.
The most impressive thing about Leah is the fact that she’s a 100% self-taught makeup artist. She fell in love with makeup during her high school years and used it as a creative outlet during the times when she was at her lowest.
“I started by doing movie make-up like special effects type stuff, literally using whatever I could find in the pantry I remember mixing flour and water and using jam and food dye for blood so I kind of started there and I went down the beauty route for a while, but my love was always with the crazy stuff,” Leah told Independent.ie.
A few years down the road, Leah’s makeup art significantly evolved, and we’re especially impressed by her transformations into famous movie characters—from Pennywise to Poison Ivy.
