Macy Eleni is the Viral Thrift Queen You Should Be Following

Over the past few years, thrifting has become super popular and during the pandemic, since many thrift stores have been closed, the newest way to buy second-hand is visiting estate sales. And when it comes to thrifting, no one knows better than Macy Eleni. Macy Eleni is known as Blazed And Glazed on social media and she’s showing us all how to buy second-hand.

Eleni grew up in Ohio and moved to L.A. four years ago. She’s been thrifting her entire life and loved fashion from an early age. Eleni and her sisters were raised by a single mom, so she couldn’t afford to buy designer clothes, which is when her love for thrifting started.

She told NYLON that she wanted to recreate looks she saw in magazines so she would go to the local Salvation Army on half off days to find items from different eras. It was then that she felt like she found her calling, “It made me feel like I finally found my place in fashion because it’s such a place for exploration.”

She posts all of her thrift hauls on her YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram along with mental health advice, beauty routines, and personal life updates. Eleni even invites other thrifters to join her on expeditions. She’s best known for her love of shimmy shake tops, which are button-downs with personality.

In addition to loving the experience of thrifting, she believes buying second hand can be empowering, “It’s really fun to see young people now feeling almost empowered and doing something that’s easier and financially accessible to them.”
