Art can be made using all different types of mediums and one Vietnamese hairdresser found that he could create artist stunning masterpieces out of the most unexpected material—hair! Nguyễn Phát Trí’s job as a hairstylist became more than just his career when he started sharing with the world his talent for creating incredibly intricate hairdos.
Nguyễn originally graduated in biotechnology, but found a passion for beauty and decided to pursue it. As a hairstylist, he had always done wedding hairstyles, with beautiful swoops and perfectly sculpted buns for brides. Soon, though, he started to create masterful flowers that you have to see to believe, out of his client’s hair, showcasing his talent and careful planning.
These hairstyles don’t happen quickly. In fact, depending on the intricacy of the specific project, Nguyễn explained to Bored Panda.“Sometimes it only takes 3-5 days, but sometimes it takes 2-3 months for a new hair sample to be completed.”
“The journey to complete a hair model from the initial idea to the actual product is not a simple one. I have to sketch the design, calculate the layout, shapes and then find materials, accessories.”
