Lucy Farfort is an illustrator based in Newcastle, England. Growing up, she says, she never saw children of color or children with a mixed ethnic background in her books—so she decided to change that and now creates these quirky and adorable illustrations.
She knew she wanted to become an illustrator or a comic creator after her cousin introduced her to anime and manga when she was 14. Years later, she got an admin job but did freelance work as an illustrator and graphic designer in her spare time. It was in her late 20s when she realized it was finally time to pursue her dream for real, after so many years of doing art as a hobby.
Today, she’s a part of Little Tiger Press publishing company and has illustrated a children’s book called Afraid of the Dark. You can see some of her work if you scroll down or check out her Instagram page for regular updates.
