Spotify Music Festival Lineup is a New Viral Craze & You Can Easily Make Your Own

Spotify has given us many viral crazes over the years and another one is trending on social media right now. People are making their own virtual music festival lineups using the data from their Spotify account, but what is this trend all about and how can you make your own?

This craze emerged thanks to the new app called Instafest, developed by Anshay Saboo, but how did he come up with the idea for this viral trend?

“I had the idea when I was in bed scrolling through TikTok one day, I saw people were posting videos from Coachella and I started thinking about how I would set the Coachella lineup if I could pick the artists,” he told TechCrunch.

Chances are you’ve already seen one of the Instafest posts on your Instagram stories, and they perfectly mimic the look of posters for popular music festivals, such as Malibu Sunrise and LA Twilight. As for the lineup itself, it’s generated based on your most-listened artists on Spotify.

Making your own Instafest poster is pretty easy, and it all starts with downloading this app. Once that’s done, you’ll be asked to sign up to your Spotify account, and pick a time interval that your poster should be based on, from the past four weeks to all time. Last.fm is also supported, but Saboo is planning to add support for other services such as Apple Music and Deezer.
