The post Eric Wert’s Still Life Oil Paintings are Astonishingly Realistic appeared first on https://everydaymonkey.com.
]]>Wert has a long-time experience in scientific illustration, which plays a great part in his creative process. He is focused on getting every detail right, whether it’s adding a drop of water resting on a flower petal or getting the surface texture right to the very last spore.
According to Wert, he chooses common subjects like flowers and fruit because there is much more to them than we initially perceive.
“The experience of painting common subjects reveals just how unknowable they truly are. The more I look, the more mysterious the world becomes: we are on an alien planet enveloped by other life, “the artist shared in a recent chat with Realism Today.
Wert’s works have been exhibited all over the world and can be found in private and public collections. The artist also shares his newest works on social media while also providing his followers insight into his creative process. Scroll down to check more of his still life oil paintings.

]]>Lechoszest is so convinced in his skills and the outcome of his work that he often has subjects pose alongside the painting he completed. He then shares it with his social media followers, allowing them to compare the resemblance between the model and the portrait.
What’s even more impressive about Lechoszest is that he doesn’t hesitate to destroy a painting if he doesn’t think he did a good job.
“I am able to destroy a big painting and start from scratch if I know what the problem is and how to solve it. But it is not always the case, we are not always able to predict everything. Such paintings do not leave my studio and land in the oven,” he explains on his website.
Lechoszest’s paintings can be found in private and public collections all around the world. The artist also enjoys a big popularity on Instagram, where he shares his newest works with more than 605K followers.

These paintings reflect on being ready for what’s to come and like the trees knowing we’ll get through it. There will be blossoming once again in the spring.”

]]>“The brushstroke represents a kind of medication to the skin of the planet,” the artist shared in an interview for My Modern Met. “Inside, nature takes back control to a point where many people think that it shows the past rather than a possible future.”
In his work, the artist primarily works with oil paints, and as he says, he needs months to finish each creation.
“The painting has a lot of contrasts between the brushstroke and the background, visually and thematically: city/nature, day/night, light/dark, noise/serenity and more,” he added.

]]>To help shed some more light on the plight of people with eyesight problems, one South African artist decided to create oil paintings inspired by how they see the world.
Using Myopia, a vision problem that blurs the patient’s vision, especially when looking at distant objects, as his inspiration, Philip Barlow paints a series of oil paintings showing how blurry the world really is from the perspective of people who have less-than-ideal eyesight.
It’s a rare but eye-opening (pun intended) glimpse and should help make more of us sympathetic of the plight that these people face every day.
