It’s been a while since we’ve seen something as cute as Nastia Calaca’s ceramic characters. They are so full of personality and often look relatable, like they know exactly what we’re thinking and they agree with us. Their face grimaces, side-eyes, and expressions are delightful and we can’t stop scrolling through the photos of the artist’s work.
Calaca is an expert in craftsmanship who includes plenty of details in her art, no matter how small each sculpture is. Her work got her over 50,000 Instagram followers and plenty of people bought her art through her Etsy shop.
“Every such piece I create is unique. Even the copies I make on-demand are different from the original, they have mood and character of their own; some gain a wee bit of weight, some get a few new charming little wrinkles, and each of them hopes to be loved and cared for by their new owners,” she says on her website. The uniqueness of her sculptures is what gives them so much value as you can always know that nobody in the world has the exact same one.
