Fallout shelters, doomsday bunkers, and underground fortifications are nothing new. You probably know someone who knows someone who has a bunker in their yard equipped with the basic necessities in the case of an apocalypse scenario.
Swiss company Oppidum decided to take this basic concept and run away with it. They are creating ultra-luxury, over-the-top, underground bunkers for rich clients that have everything you can need in case of a catastrophe and then some.
According to the company, their bunkers are “optimized for super-luxury everyday lifestyle, while prepared for all surface threats.” Built underneath the client’s residence, these bunkers come equipped with protection from all outside elements while having their own power system, air filtration system, decontamination chamber, and more.
The bunker outlay is customizable but can feature an underground garage for the client’s car collection, a spacious lounge, private cinema, art gallery, safe, indoor garden, spa, pool, and even a fully-equipped armory.
“In an uncertain world, an Oppidum provides peace of mind,” Oppidum founder and chief executive officer Jakub Zamrazil told The Daily Mail. “It is a place of strength that enables our clients to preserve and protect what matters most.”
The entry price of the Oppidum underground bunker is 10 million, but some properties can go up to $100 million.
