Alyssa Ramos is Capturing the Ups and Downs of Solo Travel

Alyssa Ramos is the mastermind behind the insanely popular travel blog My Life’s a Travel Movie, and she visited around 100 countries on her own. She’s now living a dream of being a full-time traveler, but exploring the world on her own isn’t always as glamorous as it seems.

Ramos is now followed by over 200,000 people on Instagram, and her rise to prominence started after the Huffington Post published her viral article “Yes, I’m Pretty and I’m Traveling Alone”. She did many low-paying freelance writing gigs before this article put her on the map, helping her increase her audience and become a full-time travel blogger.

Solo travel wasn’t as popular as it is today when she first decided to give it a try, but it proved to be the right choice for Ramos because she had a hard time finding people whose travel style matches hers.

“I took my first solo trip because I kept waiting around for other people to travel with, which made me miss a lot of opportunities. After my first solo trip though, I realized how much I loved not having to worry about someone else’s schedule or behavior,” she explains on her blog.

Ramos visited seven continents and 124 countries so far and explored many of them all on her own. Through her blog and social media posts, she’s sharing useful travel tips and tricks with the world, introducing us to new travel destinations we maybe wouldn’t consider visiting otherwise.
