They say you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but Hana Bob would most likely disagree. She’s a self-taught bookbinder and she became a true Instagram and TikTok sensation after she started sharing her beautiful book cover designs with the world.
Instagram and TikTok pages @hana_bob_ were started by a book lover named Hannah, and she attracted over 80,000 followers to both over the years.
When she first started her Instagram page, Hannah mostly used it to share her favorite books and fanfics with the world, but her approach changed over time. Once she discovered the wonderful world of bookbinding, she wanted to give some of the novels in her collection a new look—and she’s been doing it ever since.
It all started with the bookbinding of the Harry Potter fanfiction Manacled, and she learned the basics of this craft during this journey. She kept on creating fanfic covers, giving a physical form to the stories we usually only get to read online, before moving on to books we all know and love.
Hannah mostly focuses on fantasy and horror novels, such as The Chronicles of Narnia, Lord of the Rings, Frankenstein, and Dracula. Her covers of Pride & Prejudice and Howl’s Moving Castle also went viral, attracting millions of views on Instagram.
