Evan M. Cohen’s Colorful Illustrations Speak Volumes

People often think that illustrations have to look bleak and serious to send a powerful message, but that’s a common misconception. Evan M. Cohen’s comics are as colorful and offbeat as it gets, but that’s not stopping them from speaking volumes.

Evan Matthew Cohen is an illustrator, animator, and comic book artist based in the Midwest. He attracted over 440,000 followers to his Instagram page over the course of the past decade and worked with many high-profile clients, from Apple to the New York Times.

Cohen was into comic books, cartoons, and video games from a young age, and he had a knack for art early on. He got used to carrying a sketchbook and pens everywhere he went but made a shift to digital art after college and started focusing on comics instead of individual drawings.

Cohen’s comics often have a spiritual feel and they’ll make you reflect on life’s big questions, but he believes it’s up to each of us to find our own answers.

“In the end it hopefully provides some answers for me and anyone that sees it. I want the work to feel timeless and be about a things we all experience. There should be common ground for everyone to find something in the work, regardless of background or belief,” the artist told Booooooom.
