Foxes in Love Comics Offer a Lighthearted and Wholesome Look at Relationships

Many of our favorite illustrators rely on dark humor to get their point across, while others try to embrace a more lighthearted approach. Toivo Kaartinen is proving that wholesome comics can be as hilarious as it gets with his viral series Foxes in Love.

Kaartinen is a Finland-based cartoonist, who fell in love with art at an early age, drawing inspiration from Donald Duck and Moomin comics. He switched through many careers before striking gold in 2019 when he started sharing Foxes in Love comics with the world.

Inspired by Kaartinen’s own relationship with his partner, Foxes in Love show a pair of foxes, simply known as Blue and Green dealing with the ups and downs of everyday life. From facing anxiety and depression to dealing with kids and work drama, there’s no problem too big for these two foxy creatures to solve.

Kaartinen is the latest artist to rely on animal characters to capture relatable, human problems. Blue and Green Fox don’t know much, but they know what love is, and it’s a joy to watch them explore relationships and family life together.

Since embarking on this creative journey in 2019, Kaartinen attracted over 130,000 to his Instagram page @green_fox_blue_fox and also published two Foxes in Love books.
