Moran Trabelsi is Making Beautiful Organic Vases Inspired by Sea Shells

If you’re always in the mood to discover new ceramic artists who aren’t afraid to break the mold, Moran Trabelsi will be your cup of tea. She specializes in making strangely-shaped hand-built vases and sculptures, often inspired by the immense beauty of sea shells.

Trabelsi is a multidisciplinary artist based in Tel Aviv, Israel, and her educational background actually has nothing to do with ceramics or sculpture. She got her degree in fashion design at Shenkar College of Engineering and Design and went on to work in the fields of fashion, graphic design, and product design.

While working as a product designer for a tech company, Trabelsi attended a wheel-throwing class as a form of creative therapy. This was where she fell in love with ceramic art, and she fully immersed herself in it during the pandemic, when she converted her home office into a small pottery studio.

Trabelsi’s vases are instantly recognizable thanks to their sea shell-inspired details since she’s always been fascinated by their organic shapes and textures.

“Since I can remember my imagination was always intrigued, enchanted, and inspired by nature and its patterns, especially by the infinite harmony of underwater creatures, shaped by an endless evolution,” she explains on her official website.
