Cassie Carey is a New York-based hairstylist who is taking hairstyling as an art to a whole other level. Carey approaches her client’s hair as a canvas but in a literal way. She covers it in vibrant colors and complex patterns to create “head paintings.”
According to Carey, her “head paintings” allow her to combine her passion for painting and drawing with her career as a successful hairstylist.
“I love making images in my head come to life, and that goes for all forms of my art,” Carey told New Wave Mag.
Carey’s unique style has already created a major buzz. She has a long line of clients offering her hair as a canvas while also being recognized by the hairstyle community. Just recently, she was recognized as a Newcomer Hairstylist of the Year by the North American Hairstyling Award jury.
