Petr Spatina Plays Music on Drinking Glasses

If you are talented enough, almost anything can be used as a music instrument. One great example is Czech musician Petr Spatina, who plays music on drinking glasses.

Spatina makes music using an instrument he refers to as a “glass harp.” This instrument consists of 33 drinking glasses filled with water. The glasses differ in shape and form and feature different levels of water, allowing the musician to play different sounds.

According to The Music Man, Spatina plays the “glass harp” by wetting his fingers in the water and then sliding them across the edge of the glass. This results in vibrations that produce sounds.

The talented street musician writes and plays original tunes on his unique instruments but is no stranger to also doing covers. One video from the YouTube channel Maati Baani has captured Spatina playing a medley of Harry Potter Theme and Carmen Habanera. And it’s safe to say he nailed it.

Spatina, who trained in accordion and the piano whole, has been entertaining people with his “glass harp” for the past 20 years. He often performs in major cities in the Czech Republic, including Prague and Brno, and has his own Spotify page where he shares his latest works.
