Whether or not you consider dolls to be a tad creepy, let’s at least agree that they all have a certain beauty to them. Either way, the dolls created by Russian couple Anastasiya and Sergey Lutsenko are outstanding in many ways.
They are handmade from head to toe; the lashes are glued on manually, and the costumes are also done by hand. However, the most interesting thing is that the dolls are so realistic-looking that you need to look twice to be sure if they’re real or not.
Both Anastasiya and Sergey graduated in the field of classical art. Students of their craft, the couple has explained that their masterpieces are inspired by those “who in some way stand out from the crowd”.
“We draw our inspiration from everyday life. It is always interesting to watch people and find some character types that stand out from the crowd,” they shared in a post on Bored Panda. “Each doll has its own history and is one of a kind. It is fundamentally important for us to use decorative elements.”
The couple currently has over 275,000 followers on their Instagram profile titled Lutsenko Dolls and tens of thousands of likes on each post. They point out that they do not make dolls with portrait resemblance. However, we can all agree that they resemble real people quite strongly!
