Sam Turnbull is Trying to Make a Vegan Lifestyle Accessible to Everyone

Going vegan is a big step, especially since it’s tough to find quick, easy, and budget-friendly recipes at the very start of her journey. Sam Turnbull decided to start sharing her recipes with the world and prove to everyone that making vegan food can be easy and delicious.

Turnbull grew up in a family of chefs, butchers, and hunters, and going vegan was the last thing on her mind in her youth. Despite being an omnivore, she was also a huge animal lover, and she decided to switch up her diet after watching the documentaries Vegucated and Forks Over Knives.

Turnbull admits that her transition to a vegan lifestyle wasn’t an easy one. Once she started doing some research, she stumbled upon many recipes that contained ingredients that weren’t easily accessible or cheap, mostly salads, smoothies, and juices.

She eventually decided to start developing her own hearty, flavorful, and straight-up delicious recipes, and her blog It Doesn’t Taste Like Chicken experienced a real boom once she started sharing them with the world.

“As the feedback started rolling in, I fell in love with recipe writing. It was so fun, creative, and tasty! Not only that, but I was helping to show people that a plant-based diet can be totally delicious, easy, doable, and good for you!” she explains on her blog.
