All artists are inspired by something. Some are inspired by little things that happen in day-to-day life, while others like to look at the big picture in things. In the case of Sian Storey, she maintains on her Instagram bio that she’s inspired by “nature, travel and beauty”. If we’re being honest, this totally makes sense when you actually take a look at her artwork. However, she does seem to have a theme she loves to paint, which she didn’t mention in her bio—animals.
The Hampshire-based artist creates beautiful paintings of all kinds of things, but animals seem to pop up a lot. Birds, in particular, are frequent presences in her paintings, and you can see here how incredibly realistic they look. If you’re someone who loves birds, it would be hard to turn your nose up at these brilliant masterpieces.
But although we stated that they look realistic, there is an element of fantasy in her work. She tends to inject a certain psychedelic quality in her paintings, but not too much that it overpowers the actual quality.
