The Town of Anaheim Proves it Pays to Be Kind

Kindness makes the world go round and it should be contagious.

Those were the feelings of a young girl who sadly passed away in a car accident.

In the wake of her death, her father, Edward Jaievsky, discovered that she had made a series of drawings and writings about her wish for a world filled with kindness, and so he chose to hang up signs reading “Make Kindness Contagious” around the Californian town of Anaheim.

The signs spurred the curiosity of councilman Tom Tait who tracked down Jaievsky and heard his story, which then inspired him to run for Mayor.

His campaign slogan?

“Make Kindness Contagious.”

Tait served as Mayor of the town between 2010 and 2018, promoting Anaheim to be nominated as one of Reader’s Digest’s “Top 50 Nicest Places in America.”
