These Concrete Vases are Inspired By Pop Culture

Vases come in all sorts of shapes and forms, but we bet you don’t expect them to look like Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, a pair of Nike sneakers, or a Daft Punk helmet. But these kinds of vases actually exist thanks to VASE BY SU studio.

VASE BY SU creates all sorts of impressive concrete vases inspired by pop culture. Their works are characterized by a monochromatic palette and exceptional attention to detail. This makes them true works of art that everyone would like to have in their living room.

For example, their vase inspired by Dark Magician Girl looks like someone has printed the original card in stone. The artwork, details, and descriptions are all there. The object also has an added detail of six orange roses to represent the six stars that symbolize the card’s level.

According to the artist behind the studio’s creations, the series was inspired by flowers and plants growing from the concrete cracks.

“Wherever flowers and grass emerge from, it has become their vase,” the artist explained. “I have imagined that anything could be turned into a vase, and flowers and grass would grow from it.”
