Food doesn’t have to look good to taste good, but it sure helps. If a dish looks unappealing, good luck trying to get someone to try it. But, at least, it might end up on one particularly amusing social media page.
Back in 2019, one Instagram user decided to dedicate an entire page to bad-looking food and dishes from around the world. If you thought that the page didn’t last long, think again. It managed to get close to 20K followers and has a collection of 350 dishes you probably wouldn’t like to try out.
According to the page creator, they are food enthusiasts who enjoy going through food forums and Reddit pages. They would often encounter some really unappealing dishes, which is how they got the idea to create an Instagram page.
They initially posted photos from their own collection, but it didn’t take long before other users started submitting their own entries.
“For Instagram, how it looks is the most important one, obviously,” the page creator explained in a chat with Bored Panda.” A dish could be the most delicious dish you’ve ever eaten, but if it looks bad it ruins everything, in my opinion. I think most people think this way too.”
