Thanks to accents, we can immediately tell which country or region someone is from without even asking them. Take English speakers, for example. While Americans, Australians, Canadians, and British people speak the same language, they all have different accents, making them easily distinguishable.
It isn’t uncommon that some people, especially actors, can speak in different accents. However, seeing someone being able to speak in more than 20 different accents is really something special. This is why vocal coach Sarah Valentine is such a big hit on TikTok.
Valentine, who is also an actress, regularly showcases her accent skills in the form of TikTok videos. Usually, her followers ask her to say a simple phrase like “I need coffee” or “I love you,” and she then proceeds to say it in 26 different English accents ranging from American and standard British to Cockney, French, and Southern.
When she is not recording videos for her 600,000 followers on TikTok, Valentine shares her skills with others. She is an accent and dialect coach who teaches actors and voice actors different accents they might require for their roles. She also helps people with accent reduction.
“I have dedicated my life to learning accents and dialects from all around the world,” Valentine shares on her website.
