TikToker Eats a Potato Chip Worth $120K By Accident

One TikToker might have eaten the world’s priciest potato chip without even knowing it. How did this happen, you ask? Well, it is quite an interesting story.

The UK potato chip brand Walkers has an ongoing giveaway in which it promises to hand out a £100,000 ($120,000) cash prize to a person who finds a heart-shaped potato chip in one of their potato chip bags. There is only one chip out there, and officially, it is yet to be discovered. Unofficially, it has already been found and eaten.

TikTok user @corysworldd has an ongoing video series in which he documents what he eats in a day. One of the clips from the series, uploaded in early February, shows him enjoying some Walkers chips. The eagle-eyed TikTokers noticed that one chip he had eaten suspiciously looked like the prize-winning one.

@corysworldd later recorded a follow-up video in which he acknowledged that he might have eaten a potato chip worth $120,000. He explained that he didn’t know about the giveaway at the time and only discovered his mistake after it was brought to his attention by other TikTok users.

“That is the same,” he said, comparing the chip he had eaten with the one advertised on the Walkers’ official website. “What happens next? Can everyone tag Walker’s so we can sort this situation out please.”

Unfortunately for @corysworldd, his chances of getting the cash prize are slim to none. Walkers already issued an official statement saying that the TikToker didn’t follow the rules of keeping the chip intact.

“Such a shame that Cory has eaten that crisp! We do need to be fair to all the other Walkers fans that have followed our competition T&Cs and held onto their crisp for safekeeping, so I’m afraid we won’t be able to accept his entry this time round,” said the company.
