Victor Martens’ Unusual Concept Imagines the Collaboration of Nike and Ikea

It isn’t unusual to see a collaboration of brands from different industries. But artist Victor Martens really decided to think of the box when he created a concept that imagines collaboration between sportswear giant Nike and furniture retailer Ikea.

As part of the proposed Nike and Ikea collab, which was fittingly named Nikea, Martens designed several products. The one that captured our attention immediately is Nikea Dünks sneakers. The shoe copies the style of the classic Nike Dunk model while adopting Ikea’s iconic blue and yellow color scheme.

Martens also came up with a fitting slogan for Nikea: “Just do it yourself.” This is, of course, the combination of the famous Nike motto “Just do it” and Ikea’s business model that requires customers to build the furniture they purchase by themselves.

Other Martens’ designs from the Nikea project include T-shirts and hoodies with Nikea lettering and the brand’s logo. You can check out those in the multi-slide Instagram post below.

While this is just a made-up collaboration, we have to admit that we like it a lot. Nikea is currently trending on social media, and who knows? Maybe if it reaches folks at Nike and Ikea, it will become a reality.
