If you have two spoons in your cutlery drawer that are similar in size and shape, it shouldn’t matter which one you choose, right? Well, that is not what the internet thinks.
TikToker user @mum.me.and.emily recently shared what seemed to be a simple video about spoon preferences. She showed two similarly looking spoons and wondered how some people could pick out either of the two and be content with their choice.
“Now there’s clearly a winner spoon here. Is it only me?” she says in the video that surged past 10 million views in just a week.
It turned out it wasn’t just her. The video quickly sparked a huge debate on the internet about which spoon is better. Other TikTok users were strangely passionate about their choices and were not afraid to show it.
“2 always. It’s light and flat,” wrote one user.
“option 1! it looks the perfect weight, the curving is just right, and the handle edge doesn’t have the rough patterned edging,” argued another.
There were those that would choose both but for different things.
“To me option 1 is for soupy things, option 2 is for pudding consistency,” shared one TikToker.
After allowing some time for the dust to settle, @mum.me.and.emily also revealed her choice. She believes that spoon 1 is the superior spoon.
