Betsy Morningstar’s Mugs Look Like Ripped Journal Notes

If you’re always on the lookout for new mugs and want to add a unique piece to your collection, we’ve got just the thing you’re looking for. Betsy Morningstar is making some of the most unique mugs that you’ll come across, and they look just like ripped pages from someone’s journal.

Morningstar is a full-time high school art teacher based near Baltimore, Maryland, and art has always been one of her biggest passions. She was obsessed with lined paper from a young age, using it for everything from drawing and writing love letters to organize life and store memories once she grew up.

She found beauty in its folds and wrinkles and eventually wanted to immortalize it in the porcelain form, by creating ceramic pieces that recreate pages from her journal.

“Each porcelain paper features journal notes and fleeting moments from a day in my life, now forever special and permanent. The notes vary on the emotional spectrum of life, but all are significant moments I never want to forget. They are my brain and my heart in physical form,” she explained on her official website.

Morningstar’s mugs usually feature dates and lines from her personal journal, but she’s also open to custom orders. In addition to looking amazing, her mugs are fully functional, and they’re food, microwave, and dishwasher safe.
